Bukál is the Filipino word for stream, fountain, oasis, source, and bubbles. It’s a colorful concept captured in a five-letter word, and expresses our mission succinctly: to provide pure, refreshing water to underdeveloped regions around the world.
How do we do it? By creating bold and extraordinary flavors inspired by river regions around the globe. In turn, a portion of each bottle sale goes back to the source: to region-specific clean water projects our flavors drew inspiration from.
Together with you, WateROAM Singapore, and our cause-driven crew, we’re making a life-changing impact one bottle at a time.
Yvonne Johnson was born and raised in the Philippines, where clean water was not always accessible. While most of her native country’s resources have developed over time, many regions are still affected by poor water conditions and the negative impact of seasonal flooding.
She has taught English as a Second Language for eighteen years in the United States, Philippines, and Thailand, and has a passion for cross-cultural communication.
Robert Johnson spent his eighth grade year in the Ukraine, where his parents worked as humanitarians. He also spent three years during his twenties in the Philippines and Thailand, where he experienced the negative impacts of poverty and improper sanitation, and how both relate to inadequate living conditions and health.
He is the author of three books, a Business Weekly 40 Under 40 recipient, founder of Crossroads Kombucha, and a founding board member of Slow Food Fort Wayne.
